What is a Primary Contact?

A Primary Contact is the person that initially sets up the organisations account and then becomes the lead on the account. They are the main contact for the RNIB Bookshare team to contact where necessary. 

The Primary Contact is the only user that can set up Sponsor (staff) accounts. The Primary Contact can be changed. 

The Primary Contact can:

• Set up Sponsor (staff) accounts
• set up Member (learners) accounts
• set up reading lists
• Search, browse and discover content
• Download resources for any member

Who should use a Sponsor account?

A Sponsor account is for any member of staff at the organisation where the account is set up.  Sponsors are set up by the Primary Contact. 

Sponsors can:

• set up reading lists
• Search, browse and discover content
• Download resources for any member

Who is a member account for?

A member account is for use by any qualifying learners with a print disability. We would also suggest where you need to create an account for a parent of a child with a print disaiblity you do so with a Member account. 

Member accounts must be set up in order to be able to download, and they are a fantastic way of encouraging a learner to be more independent about accessing the resources they need. Find out more by reading Charlie's story.
