Co-written by many scholars, Prismatic Jane Eyre traces the receptions of the novel across cultures, showing why, when and where it has been translated (and no less significantly, not translated – as in Swahili), and exploring its global publishing history with digital maps and carousels of cover images. Above all, the co-authors read the translations and the English text closely, and together, showing in detail how the novel’s feminist power, its political complexities and its romantic appeal play out differently in different contexts and in the varied styles and idioms of individual translators. by Pravin Pithadiyaભારતનાં પૂર્વોત્તર રાજ્ય સિક્કિમની સરહદે પથરાયેલી કંચનજંઘા પર્વતમાળાઓ ની તળેટીમાં ખેલાતી એક ભિષણ જીવલેણ જંગ એટલે " નો રીટર્ન ". સદીઓથી એ પર્વતમાળા પોતાની અંદર એક રહસ્ય છૂપાવીને બેઠી છે...એક ખતરનાક સત્ય તેની અંદર ઢબૂરાઇને પડયું હતું. એ સત્યને ઉજાગર કરે છે " નો રીટર્ન ". અમિત...એક સિધો-સાદો સરળ યુવક અચાનક એક અકસ્માતનો ભોગ બને છે. સાવ સામાન્ય જણાતો એ અકસ્માત તેનાં જીવનમાં ભયાનક ઝંઝાવાત લઈને આવે છે. અકસ્માતના કારણે શરૂ થાય છે ભયાનક સ્વપ્નો નો સિલસિલો. છ- છ મહિનાઓ સુધી જ્યારે એ બિહામણા સ્વપ્નો તેનો કેડો મુકતા નથી ત્યારે તે એ સ્વપ્નો ની ગૂથ્થી ઉકેલવા નિકળી પડે છે...અને પછી સર્જાય છે પળેપળ રોમાંચક ઘટનાઓની હારમાળા...જેનું અનુસંધાન જોડાય છે એક પછી એક રહસ્યનાં તાણાવાણા ગૂંથતી આ કથામાં જોડાય છે ખૂનખાર પાત્રોની શૃંખલા. એક નાનકડી ચિંગારી બહું મોટી ભયાનક આંધી ને જન્મ આપે છે. હવે પછી શું થશે એ પ્રશ્નનો ઉત્તર મેળવવાની જિજ્ઞાસા તમને આ કહાનીનું એક પછી એક પાનું ઉથલાવવા મજબૂર કરી દેશે.

Patelરાજયશાસ્ત્રને આપણે સામાજિક શાસ્ત્રો પૈકીના એક શાસ્ત્ર તરીકે ઓળખાવી શકીએ. સમાજનો અભ્યાસ કરનારાં વિવિધ શાસ્ત્રો જેવાં કે, અર્થશાસ્ત્ર, સમાજશાસ્ત્ર, માનસશાસ્ત્ર, ઇતિહાસ વગેરેની જેમ રાજ્યશાસ્ત્ર પણ આવું જ એક શાસ્ત્ર છે, ઓ બધાં સામાજિક શાસ્ત્રો મનુષ્યના સમાજ જીવનના કોઈ ને કોઈ પાસાને સ્પર્શે છે. તેથી જ તો તે સામાજિક શાસ્ત્રો કહેવાય છે, સમાજજીવનનાં જુદાં-જુદાં પાસાંનો વિશિષ્ટ અને સમગ્રતયા અભ્યાસ કરનારાં આ શાસ્ત્રોમાં રાજ્યશાત્રે આગવું સ્થાન ધરાવે છે, અંગ્રેજી ભાષામાં રાજ્યશાસ્ત્રને પોલિટિકલ સાયન્સ (Political Science) કહેવામાં આવે છે, પોલિટિકલ શબ્દ ગ્રીક ભાષાના ‘પોલિટી’શબ્દ પરથી ઉતરી આવ્યો છે, ગ્રીક લોકો પોતાના નગર અથવા શહેરને ‘પોલિટી’કહેતાં. આથી રાજ્યશાસ્ત્ર એટલે નગરજીવનની ચર્ચા કરતું શાસ્ત્ર એમ માનવામાં આવતું હતું. એ વખતે નગરરાજજ્યો હતાં, આજે એવાં નગરરાજ્ય રહ્યાં નથી અને તેનું સ્થાન નાનાં-મોટાં વિશાળ રાજ્યોએ લીધું છે તેમ કહી શકાય. પ્રસ્તુત પાઠ્યપુસ્તક માં 10 પાઠ આપેલ છે
