ما أكثر أيام الحياة وما أقلّها! لم أعش من تلك الأعوام الطوال التي عشتها في هذا العالم إلا عامًا واحدًا مرّ بي كما يمر النجم الدهريُّ في سماء الدنيا ليلة واحدة، ثم لا يراه الناس بعد ذلك. قضيت الشطر الأوّل من حياتي أفتش عن صديق ينظر إلى أصدقائه بعين غير العين التي ينظر بها التاجر إلى سلعته، والزارع إلى ماشيته، فأعوزني ذلك حتى عرفت فلانًا منذ ثماني عشرة عامًا، فعرفت امرءًا، ما شئت أن أرى خلة من خلال الخير والمعروف في ثياب رجل إلا وجدتها فيه، ولا تخيلت صورة من صور الكمال الإنساني في وجه إنسان إلا أضاءت لي في وجهه، فجلَّت مكانته عندي، ونزل من نفسي منزلة لم ينزلها أحد من قبله، وصفت كأس الود بيني وبينه لا يكدرها علينا مكدر.  حتى عرض لي من حوادث الدهر ما أزعجني من مستقري، فهجرت القاهرة إلى مسقط رأسي غير آسف على شيء فيها إلا على فراق ذلك الصديق الكريم، فتراسلنا حقبة من الزمن، ثم فترت عني كتبه ثم انقطعت، فحزنت لذلك حزنًا شديدًا، وذهبت بي الظنونَ في شأنه كل مذهب، إلا أن أرتاب في صدقه ووفائه، وكنت كلما هممت بالمصير إليه لتعرّف حاله قعد بي عن ذلك همٌّ كان يقعدني عن كل شأن حتى شأن نفسي، فلم أعد إلى القاهرة إلا بعد عدة أعوام فكان أول همي يوم هبطت أرضها أن أراه، فذهبت إلى منزله في الساعة الأولى من الليل فرأيت ما لا تزال حسرته متصلة بقلبي حتى اليوم. تركت هذا المنزل فردوسًا صغيرًا من فراديس الجنان تراءى فيه السعادة في ألوانها المختلفة، وتترقرق وجوه ساكنيه بشرًا وسرورًا، ثم زرته اليوم فخيِّل إلى أنني أمام مقبرة موحشة ساكنة لا يهتف فيها صوت ولا يتراءى في جوانبها شبحٌ، ولا يلمع في أرجائها مصباح، فظننت أني أخطأت المنزل الذي أريده، أو أنني بين يدي منزل مهجور حتى سمعت بكاء طفل صغير، ولمحت في بعض النوافذ نورًا ضعيفًا، فمشيت إلى الباب فطرقته، فلم يجبني أحد فطرقته أخرى فلمحت من خصاصه نورًا مقبلاً ثم لم يلبث أن انفرج لي عن وجه غلام صغير في أسمال بالية، يحمل في يده مصباحًا ضئيلاً فتأملته على ضوء المصباح، فرأيت في وجهه صورة أبيه، فعرفت أنه ذلك الطفل الجميل المدلل الذي كان بالأمس زهرة هذا المنزل وبدر سمائه، فسألته عن أبيه فأشار إليَّ بالدخول ومشى أمامي بمصباحه حتى وصل بي إلى قاعة شعثاء مغبرة، بالية المقاعد والأستار، ولولا نقوش لاحت لي في بعض جدرانها كباقي الوشم في ظاهر اليد ما عرفت أنها القاعة التي قضينا فيها ليالي السعادة والهناء اثني عشر هلالاً، ثم جرى بيني وبين الغلام حديث قصير عرف فيه من أنا، وعرفت أن أباه لم يعد إلى المنزل حتى الساعة، وأنه عائد عما قليل.. ثم تركني ومضى وما لبث إلا قليلاً حتى عاد يقول لي: إن والدته تريد أن تحدثني حديثًا يتعلق بأبيه، فخفق قلبي خفقة الرعب والخوف، وأحسست بشر لا أعرف مأتاه ثم التفتُّ فإذا امرأة ملتفة برداء أسودَ واقفة على عتبة الباب فحيتني فحييتها، ثم قالت لي: هل علمت ما صنع الدهر بفلان من بعدك؟ قلت: لا، فهذا أول يوم هبطت فيه هذا البلد بعد ما فارقته سبعة أعوام، قالت: ليتك لم تفارقه، فقد كنت عصمته التي يعتصم بها وحماه من غوائل الدهر وشروده، فما هي إلا أن فارقته حتى أحاطت به زمرةٌ من أمر الشيطان، وكان فتى كما تعلمه غريرًا ساذجًا، فما زالت تغريه بالشر وتزين له منه ما يزين الشيطان للإنسان حتى سقط فيه، فسقطنا جميعًا في هذا الشقاء الذي تراه، قلت: وأي شر تريدين يا سيدتي؟  

الغـرر في فضـائل عـمـر

هذه أول دراسة تولي شخصية تراثية عناية كاملة؛ إذ أن كل الأعمال النقدية والفكرية قبل ذلك، لم تهتم بالشخصيات التي يمكن أن يكون استلهامها في إطار الفكر ظاهرة بذاتها، جديرة بالتأمل والنظر. وقد كان الهدف الرئيسي هو ملء الفراغ الذي تركته مثل هذه الدراسات في ذلك الميدان، كما كان الهدف الأسمى أن هذا النوع من الدراسات ينطلق من حتمية أن التراث هو الينبوع الحي المتدفق، الذي يلجأ إليه الكاتب العربي؛ ليجد فيه الراحة وتجديد العزم، ومن ثم الإسهام في رسم الخطوط العامة للفكر في عصره، سواء ما يخلو منه أو ما يجب أن يكون عليه، وهذا، فيما نرى يعد من أهم أهداف الأدب في أي زمان ومكان. وإذا كانت هذه الدراسة قد تلمست في تفسير الظاهرة التراثية منهجًا قريب الشبه بمنهج حديث يعرف اليوم؛ بإسقاط الفكر على الحادثة التاريخية لإعادة تحليلها فكريًا، فقد أضفنا إلى الممارسة التاريخية والفكرية كل النصوص (الأدبية) التي كتبت عن شهرزاد في العصر الحديث، بقصد إعادة فتح ملف" توظيف" التراث في بعض نواحيه، وإعادة قراءته من جديد. وعلى هذا النحو فإن وضع النص الأدبي، بجزئياته وملابساته العامة والذاتية؛ تحت مجهر البحث العلمي، وتلمس وجهات نظر الأدب والنقد والتاريخ؛ هو هدف البحث لإعادة كشف الكثير في خارطة الفكر العربي. *** يدور إطار البحث حول (توظيف شخصية شهرزاد في الفكر العربي الحديث) وهو آخر أشكال الكاتب بموروثه الفلكلوري، ويمكننا في تتبع فصول الكتاب تحديد درجة هذه العلاقة من حيث درجة النجاح أو الإخفاق. وينقسم الكتاب إلى مدخل وستة فصول.. يعالج الفصل الأول فيه نقطتين هامتين؛ يعدان الركيزة الأساسية التي تسترشد بهما الدراسة فيما بعد، أحداهما، تتبع المنحنى التاريخي الذي سارت فيه شهرزاد منذ خرجت من إطار (الليالي) إلى الغرب حتى عادت منه إلى الشرق ثانية، وقد تغيرت كثيرًا أثناء الرحلة التي بلغت قرابة سبعة قرون، فتحول فيها الكثير من سماتها الشرقية وعروبتها؛ ليلتقي بها مفكرونا في بدايات هذا القرن؛ إذ كانت خطوط الفكر العربي، حينئذ وتلك هي النقطة الأخرى، تتشكل، حين كان كتابنا ومثقفونا يدخلون دائرة المحاق؛ حيث الحيرة والارتداد والمحاكاة. أما الفصل الثاني فينطلق من الفكر الجمالي؛ لنتعرف على شهرزاد من خلال المذاهب الغربية المختلفة، كالرومانسية والرمزية خلال القرن الثامن عشر، ليتوقف عند استلهامها في الفكر العربي في الحقبة الأخيرة؛ حيث كانت مرحلة التأثر بتلك المذاهب (لا التمذهب) من جانبنا تغلب على كل تطوراتنا الفكرية والأدبية، فكان أهم ما توصلت إليه تلك الدراسة، وأكده استلهام النموذج أن معالجة أعمال كتابنا الكبار لا يجب أن تتم من خلال مذهب أوروبي؛ إذ إن كل من حاول ذلك من كتابنا أكدوا على أنهم لم يكونوا مذهبيين بالمعنى العلمي لهذه الكلمة. وتتجمع كل خطوط (الفكر الاجتماعي) لتصب في نفس المجرى في الفصل الثالث، حين تؤكد الدراسة، على أن جهد كتابنا على امتداده وتوسعه في معاني الحرية والديمقراطية والعدالة، إنما جاء بدلالاته الاجتماعية والفكرية، مقترنًا بالنزعة الوجدانية التي يلمسها فكرنا العربي منذ فترة مبكرة من تطوره، وقد انعكس هذا كله في جنوح مثقفينا إلى المثالية والميثولوجيا (الأسطورة) أكثر من انحيازهم إلى الخط الاجتماعي، وما ترتب عليه من فقدان كثير من الرؤى الجادة، التي كان من الممكن الوصول إليها، كالفكرة العربية التي كان وضوحها مرهونًا بطبيعة التغيرات الحضارية خاصة الاجتماعية منها. ونصل للفكرة العربية في الفصل الرابع، لنرى في التوظيف القليل لشهرزاد عدم تبين المساحات الشاسعة بين الفكرة العربية والفكرة الإسلامية ومن ثم، إخفاق كتابنا في تبين الوعي القومي، والفهم العلمي الذي يمكن أن يؤدي مع النضج إلى فكرة (الوحدة العربية). وقد حرص الكاتب في ذلك الفصل أن يبتعد عن إثبات عروبة شهرزاد، فإنه فضلاً عن أن ذلك قد حسم إلى العربية من قبل، فإنه ليس مجالنا هنا بأية حال. وتلتقي كل الخطوط الفكرية وتفترق في الفصل الخامس؛ حيث نجد في موقف المثقف العربي كل ما من شأنه أن يلقي عليه اللوم بشدة، فليس لدى ذلك المثقف(أيديولوجية) واحدة، كما أنه ليس لديه رؤيا واعية للجماهير أو عن الجماهير، ومع هذا فإن هذا المثقف دائم التردد والارتداد، دائب التراجع والحيرة. وفي الدراسة التحليلية التي خصص الباحث لها الفصل الأخير، لم يحاول أن يعيد ما سبق أن طرحه، كما قد يتصور البعض، بل حاول تجميع خيوط رؤيا تحليلية

भारतीय राजनीति-चिंतन की परंपरा पश्चिमी परंपरा से भी पुरानी है, और इसमें बहुत सारे ओजस्वी विचार भरे हैं। परंतु इसके अध्ययन को यथोचित महत्त्व नहीं मिल पाया है। देखा जाए तो आधुनिक युग में पश्चिमी सभ्यता के अभ्युदय के कारण साधारणतः पाश्चात्य राजनीति-चिंतन को ही भूमंडलीय बौद्धिक परंपरा के प्रतिनिधि के रूप में प्रस्तुत किया गया है; भारतीय राजनीति-चिंतन को छिटपुट अध्ययन का विषय बना कर छोड़ दिया गया है। वस्तुतः भारतीय चिंतन की प्राचीन, मध्ययुगीन और आधुनिक धाराओं में राजनीति की बहुत सारी समस्याओं पर इतने सुलझे हुए विचार व्यक्त किए गए हैं जो भूमंडलीय बौद्धिक परंपरा का महत्त्वपूर्ण अंग बनने की क्षमता रखते हैं, परंतु मुख्यतः हमारी उदासीनता के कारण इस क्षमता को सार्थक करने का विशेष प्रयत्न नहीं हुआ है। ‘भारतीय राजनीति-विचारक’ का प्रस्तुत संस्करण पिछले सब संस्करणों का उन्नत रूप है। आशा है, इस रूप में प्रस्तुत कृति अपने पाठक-वर्ग को न केवल भारतीय राजनीति-चिंतन की समृद्ध परंपरा से परिचित कराएगी बल्कि उन्हें मानव-समाज की समस्याओं के बारे में स्वयं चिंतन करने की प्रेरणा देगी।

Postcolonial Perspectives on Postcommunism in Central and Eastern Europe

A quarter of a century after the fall of the Berlin Wall, and from the vantage point of a post-Cold War, globalised, world, there is a need to address the relative neglect of postcommunism in analysis of postcolonial and neo-colonial configurations of power and influence. This book proposes new critical perspectives on several themes and concepts that have emerged within, or been propagated by, postcolonial studies. These themes include structures of exclusion/ inclusion; formations of nationalism, structures of othering, and representations of difference; forms and historical realisations of anti-colonial/anti-imperial struggle; the experience of trauma (involving issues of collective memory/amnesia and the re-writing of history); resistance as a complex of cultural practices; and concepts such as alterity, ambivalence, self-colonisation, dislocation, hegemonic discourse, minority, and subaltern cultures. Taken together, this volume suggests that some of the methodological instruments of postcolonial criticism can be fruitfully applied to the study of postcommunist cultures and, conversely, that the experience of the Soviet brand of imperialist rule in the form of communism in East-Central Europe can function as an ideological moderator in Third-World oriented, Marxist-inspired, postcolonial discourses. This book was originally published as a special issue of the Journal of Postcolonial Writing.
