There they have carried out research mainly on joint projects of mutual scientific interest and most of the studies have been published in one of the Institute's publication series (see Appendix). A Steering Committee, consisting of experts in economic relations between East and West, has adopted an overall programme for the Workshop. In this sense, the Work shop is a joint undertaking of East European and Western scholars, officials and experts. The members of the Steering Committee are: J. Bognar, Budapest; O.
