- Synopsis
- This is a drawing by Leonardo da Vinci (1452-1519); drawing done about 1475-80. This is a very detailed and intricate drawing of the side profile of the head and shoulder of a male warrior dressed in very elaborate armour. The warrior is looking to the left with a very stern and fixed expression. His face shows signs of age with heavy bushy eyebrows, lines around his eye and a saggy jowls under his very rounded chin. He has a long humped prominent nose. His mouth is closed with his top lip covered by his bottom lip. The tactile image is approximately the same size as the original drawing and shows the outline of the warrior with some of the detail. Three different textures have been used to show the front and back of the helmet and the shoulder plate; the infill in the dragon's wing and chest area; and the left arm. Solid texture shows the dragon's wing struts, scrolls, lion's head, some of the breastplate decoration, the armour band at the neck and the lined patterning on the shoulder plate.
