- Synopsis
- This image shows a puffin seen from the side facing to the right of the page and its tail on the bottom left of the page. There is a locator dot shown, which will be at the top left of the page when the image is the correct way up. The puffin's head is in the top right of the page. In the centre of its head is one of its two eyes. The eye is black with bright orange patches around it. Above and below the eye is a small patch of grey feathers. The rest of the face is white with a black cap. To the right is the bird's extraordinary multicoloured beak. The large tip is bright red. The part near the face is black with a pink line to the left and right. On the face where the beak hinges there is a bright orange patch. There are two sand eels hanging from the beak that the puffin has caught. Down from the face there is a black collar of feathers which runs into the black feathers of the back and wing. The chest and leg feathers are white. The bird stands on orange legs with webbed feet but only one is shown.
