- Synopsis
- These pages show a map of Antarctica with an accompanying key. It is a multi-page image set on two pages. There is a locator dot shown on each page, which will be at the top left when the image is the correct way up. Key to map showing the research stations of Antarctica. This is a list of the abbreviations used on the map. The abbreviations are to the left with the names of the stations and their nationalities to the right. Map showing the research stations of Antarctica. The continent of Antarctica fills the page. The stations are marked by solid circles and major mountains by solid triangles. The stations are labelled with two letter abbreviations. Due to lack of space the letter sign is has been omitted from the abbreviations. The South Pole is marked in the centre of the page by a cross. Note: the Amundsen-Scott research station is actually right on the pole. Coastal ice shelves are indicated with a different texture. The map is surrounded by an image border. Within the image border the light textured (blue on large print) areas represent the sea.
