- Synopsis
- This diagram shows four examples of experimental correlations (scatter plots). There is a locator dot shown, which will be at the top left of the page when the image is the right way up. There are four labelled boxes on this page and each represents a scatter plot graph. The axes are labelled on each. The box in the top left corner shows a high positive correlation and plots data points which tend towards a clear diagonal direction towards the top right corner. The box in the top right corner shows a low positive correlation. This also plots a series of dots however these are more spaced out, but loosely go in a diagonal direction towards the top right corner. The bottom left box shows zero correlation. The dots on this graph are all spaced out and do not appear to go in any direction. The bottom right box shows a negative correlation and the dots on this diagram generally go in a diagonal direction to the bottom right hand corner.
