- Synopsis
- This page shows two images: the flag of Spain at the top of the page and an enlarged image of the coat of arms of Spain at the bottom of the page There is a locator dot shown, which will be at the top left of the page when the image is the correct way up. A key at the top left of the tactile page shows the colours used on the flag. The flag, at the top of the page, has three horizontal stripes with the coat of arms of Spain in the centre left of the image. The enlarged image of the coat of arms is at the bottom of the page. At the top of the image is the Spanish Royal Crown. Down the page from this is a shield divided into four quarters. In the top left quarter is a castle, in the top right there is a rampant lion facing to the left and wearing a crown, in the bottom left nine vertical stripes and in the bottom right a design of linked chains. In the centre of the shield is an oval containing three fleur-de-lis and at the bottom centre of the shield is pomegranate on a stalk with two leaves. On each side of the shield is a pillar. On top of each pillar is a crown; the one on the left is the Imperial Crown and on the right the Spanish Royal Crown. There is a ribbon draped around each pillar with the Latin inscription PLUS ULTRA (Further Beyond) the Spanish national motto.
