Learner's Storyboard

What learner's tell us

“RNIB Bookshare just makes everything more accessible, because (I) do need large print, we can't just go into a bookshop, buy a book and bring it home. (I) need to have something accessible, which means something which we can enlarge.

Instead of having to order the book through a company, getting it all printed off and sent, customised, we can just download textbooks straight away from RNIB Bookshare and have the text adapted into her font size, quickly and instantly.” October 2021

Learner was held back by his lack of access

A mother told us that her son was taking his GCSE’s (summer 2018); and was predicted to get A’s across the board. She told us that the most significant impact on that process was his access to RNIB Bookshare on his iPad.

"RNIB Bookshare has been such a positive influence on him, he is bright, but was being held back by his access to the resources he needed." (June 2018)

"RNIB's best kept secret!"

Writing her last essay, Grace said that she struggled with her assignments as she had access to only one textbook, whilst other students averaged five.

When she found out about RNIB Bookshare she quickly got her college to give her access. She has searched and browsed the site and has already found all the books she needs to study with and knows now how to request any that we haven’t got. She said that she is so happy! She told us that we are RNIB's best kept secret, which she would tell everyone about! (2018)
