Der ForumsausschuB war sich liber einen deutlichen Qualitatsan­ stieg der eingesandten Abstracts einig. Es ist daher auch dem Prasidenten der Deutschen Gesellschaft flir Chirurgie, Herrn Professor PEIPER, ganz besonders zu danken, daB er die Zahl der anzunehmenden Vortrage auf insgesamt 87, d.h. urn knapp ein Drit­ tel im Vergleich zu den vorhergehenden Kongressen erhohte. Das anonyme Benotungssystem hat sich bewahrt. Der groBte Teil der eingesandten Abstracts wird recht einheitlich von den Gut­ achtern in dem Bewertungssystem eingeordnet, so daB die Auswahl­ diskussion sich im wesentlichen auf Anmeldungen mit differenter Beurteilung beschrankt. Abstracts mit sehr chirurgiefernen Pro­ blemen muBten abgelehnt werden. So wurden wieder eine Reihe von qualitativ sehr guten, jedoch chirurgisch nicht relevanten phy­ siologisch bzw. pharmakologisch orientierten Referaten ausge­ schlossen. Gilnz klar sah der ForumsausschuB dann einen Ableh­ nungsgrund, wenn die Bedingungen der Tierschutzgesetzgebung nicht erflillt waren. Die Relation zwischen Annahme und Ablehnung ist fast bei allen Kliniken und Instituten ahnlich.
