- Synopsis
- This page shows the neuron pathway of a reflex action as a result of a heat stimulus. There is a locator dot shown, which will be at the top left, when the image is the correct way up. There are three sensory receptors in the top left of the image. They are connected to a sensory neuron which is also connected to a relay neuron in the spinal cord. The impulse travels to the right to the relay by a synapse. The relay neuron connects to a motor neuron by a second synapse. The impulse travels to the left and stimulates the muscle to contract at the motor end plate.
